Why it matters

The number of new cancer patients is steadily increasing but differences in EU health systems performance show room for improvement. Improving cancer care infrastructure towards comprehensive care through interdisciplinary patient treatment provision will contribute to patients’ wellbeing.

BenchCan produces standards, recommendations and accreditation criteria of comprehensive cancer care to review, refine and pilot a benchmarking tool that can be applied to comprehensive cancer care. It ensures that the tool is sustainable long-term and compatible with existing cancer care resources and services. BenchCan also maximises knowledge exchange and sharing of best practice between providers of comprehensive cancer care.

What ECPC does

ECPC provides horizontal support to BenchCan, ensuring that the patients’ perspective is respected throughout the project.
