Kathi Apostolidis joined Steering Group of the European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance as EMA PCWP observer - ECPC

Ms Kathi Apostolidis, Vice President of the European Cancer Patient Coalition, has joined the Steering Group of the European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance as an observer of the European Medicines Agency Patients & Consumer Working Party, of which she is a member.

The European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance is network coordinated by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). The members of this network are public institutions and contract and research organisations involved in research in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance. Research interests are not restricted to the safety of medicines but may include the benefits and risks of medicines, disease epidemiology and drug utilisation.

The Steering Group defines and safeguards the objectives and principles of European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance and decides on operational tasks of the network. The Steering Group is the highest authority of European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance and thus is its final decision making body. It acts as adjudicator in case of discrepancies or complaints in the context of the European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance network.
