Transforming the face of Head and Neck Cancer Care in Europe: It is time to take action!
We are pleased to invite you to join a meeting at the European Parliament organised by European Cancer Patient Coalition (ECPC), the Make Sense campaign and hosted by MEP Patrizia Toia.
Finalized agenda is ready to be downloaded here.
On Tuesday 5th November 2019, ECPC and the Make Sense campaign will host an interactive meeting at the European Parliament to raise awareness of the challenges that face people living with head and neck cancer in Europe.
In particular, the meeting will highlight the urgent need for better quality of care across all member states, based on newly published data from a pan-European research project, RARECAREnet.
A head and neck cancer survivor will share his personal experience of diagnosis, treatment and effect on daily life, as well as evidence from a recently published EU-wide study that explored the impact at a single point in time of head and neck cancer on patients’ work productivity and productivity outside of work.
Other presentations will focus on the lack of awareness of head and neck cancer driving late diagnosis and poor treatment outcomes, as well as the increase in HPV-related cancers in Europe.
The meeting will close with a facilitated discussion on how we can address the ongoing challenges in head and neck cancer care in Europe, through the Make Sense campaign, and beyond.
