Mrs Trillet-Lenoir was an oncologist by profession and a member of the Renew political group in the European Parliament since 2019. She was very dedicated to making the EU health system a better place for patients. Given her professional background and expertise, she played an important role in shaping the EU cancer policy landscape, ensuring that cancer patients can access proper healthcare and quality of life services no matter where they live.
ECPC had the pleasure to meet Mrs Trillet-Lenoir and start our collaboration with her at the beginning of her mandate in Brussels when she agreed to join the Challenge Cancer Parliamentary Intergroup where ECPC holds the secretariat. We also collaborated on important dossiers where Mrs Trillet-Lenoir was rapporteur, such as the Beating Cancer (BECA) report and the adoption by the Employment and social affairs (EMPL) committee of the European Parliament the report on the protection of workers from asbestos.
She also showed her full support to promote the Right to be Forgotten Law in Europe, working closely with Dr Francoise Meunier, member of the ECPC Scientific Committee.
ECPC deeply regrets that our collaboration with Mrs Veronique Trillet-Lenoir ended so abruptly due to her sudden passing. Cancer patients will always remember her energy and dedication in fighting for their cause.
